Say goodbye to muscular tension, aches and pains! Therapeutic massage promotes an improved quality of life and greater sense of physical well-being. Massage also has numerous health benefits. Massage therapy may:
- Ease the painful symptoms of many ailments (i.e. arthritis, fibromyalgia)
- Promote faster healing of strained muscles, sprained ligaments and soft tissue injuries
- Improve the circulation of blood and lymph
- Improve posture and lengthen shortened muscles and fascia
- Reduce stress and promote relaxation
The clinic offers a wide range of treatment techniques. Home care recommendations are provided after treatment and may include therapeutic stretches and exercises. After your first appointment, a personal treatment plan will be discussed with you to meet your needs.

Visceral Massage
Visceral massage is a gentle manual therapy technique that assesses the relationship between the body’s organs (e.g. bladder, bowel, uterus, etc) and others structures, like muscles, fascia, ligaments and joints. Visceral manipulation is the practice of an experienced therapist using his or her hands to move and release fascial restrictions in your abdomen and pelvis to encourage the normal movement and function of your internal organs.
Myofascial Release
Fascia is an uninterrupted 3 dimensional web of connective tissue that extends from head to toe, and front to back. It is located between the skin and the underlying muscles, the muscles themselves, and around bones and organs. Myofascial release allows the connective tissue fibres of fascia to re-organize themselves in a more flexible, functional fashion. The goal is to release fascial restrictions thereby restoring tissue health, increasing range of motion and eliminating pain. This technique is typically performed with no lotion or oil.

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage techniques involve the therapist using their hands, forearms and elbows to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. Deep tissue massage techniques vary in depth, rate and rhythm. You and your therapist will work together to create a session that addresses your pressure requirements and comfort level.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are characterized as hyper-irritable spots located within a “taut band” of muscle tissue. These local points of tenderness frequently radiate to broader areas. Applying pressure to specific points releases the contraction of trigger points, restores the normal resting length of muscles and eliminates referral pain.
Swedish Massage
One of the most familiar massage techniques, Swedish massage is characterized by the use of long, fluid, flowing strokes. Swedish massage is effective in increasing circulation and uses rhythmical strokes to promote a deep relaxation effect.

Her special interests include myofascial release and passive stretch techniques. She also offers special instruction on movement therapies including the Pilates method. Kirsty is an active member of the College of Massage Therapists of BC (CMTBC) and the Massage Therapists Association of BC (MTABC).

Evan Zaleschuk, R.M.T.
Evan graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 1994 whereupon he moved to White Rock to open a massage therapy clinic. After 3 years of successfully operating it he moved his clinic to his house and ran a home based clinic with 4 other RMTs for 22 years.
Over the course of years he has trained in many massage modalities but specializes in visceral manipulation through the Barral Institute out of Florida, completing levels VM 1-6 as well teaching assisting for levels 1-4. Visceral manipulation is a very gentle technique that mobilizes the organs which may have a fascial pull or restriction to release the connecting tissue that may be presenting as a pathology elsewhere in the body. It also helps to beak up any scar tissue from surgeries or traumas. Most any physical disfunction can be aided by the use of this technique.
Having just moved to the Kootenays Evan enjoys hiking, snowshoeing teaching meditation classes and listening to his extensive vinyl record collection.

Andria Brunner, R.M.T
Andria’s personal interest in anatomy and physiology has led to a challenging and rewarding career in exercise rehabilitation and massage therapy. She started her career in 2006 by becoming a personal trainer.
Andria is a fully certified STOTT ® Pilates instructor. “Since completing my STOTT® training over a decade ago, I have gained a deeper understanding of the smaller, stabilizing muscles and the important role these muscles play in coordination, agility, flexibility, endurance and balance. This, in turn, affects total strength and ultimately prevents injury! Pilates balances the body from the inside out.” Andria has recently completed her Registered Massage Therapy program. Massage therapy was a natural ‘next step’ for Andria’s career. Using her combined tools of therapeutic massage, corrective exercise and Pilates movement patterns she guides our Clinical Pilates clients. Collaborating with a physiotherapist, her goal is to get her clients back to the active lifestyles they love!
