In recognition of International Women’s Day let’s celebrate the contribution of Clara Pilates to the Pilates method! When Joe first opened his “Contrology” studio in 1926 in New York city, Clara ran the business operations and also taught alongside him until his death in 1967. Clara continued to run the studio until her retirement in 1970.She is often referred to as “the true teacher of Pilates” She had the patience that Joe did not. She often spent the most time with the clients and carefully explained the goals and execution of each exercise.
